Why Take This Course?
Do we really think the emergence of AI could mean fewer jobs for UX designers? It’s certainly a possibility. One way you can defend your job security is to get good at the things AI doesn’t do as well as humans. That would include coming up with strategic solutions for UX design, looking at research to discover insights no one had seen before, and designing with financial ROI in mind so your ideas are even more decision-maker friendly. By helping you become a better critical thinker, business person, and strategist, you’ll not only improve your options for the future, but make yourself more valuable in the present.
Course Description
We’ll combine presentations, sharing examples, in-class exercises, and a lightweight homework assignment to introduce you to the best practices of strategic thinking for UX design. Here are a few of the topics we’ll be covering:
The rewards of a strong strategy, and the risks of designing without one
Vision, Goals, and Plans: The prime components of a UX strategy
Executing a UX strategy via research, ideation, design, and development
Creating more value for your recommendations by framing them in the language of return-on-investment and other business metrics
Bringing AI tools into your UX strategy practice
