By 2013, it’s projected that half of all web searches will be done—not on a computer—but on a phone. With so many people relying so heavily on the device in their pockets, designers ought to know what they’re doing before designing for these small, but essential screens. In this one-day workshop, we’ll give you the foundation you need, covering:
> Understanding the variety of mobile platforms out there and how their differences influence design
> Usability on a mobile device; and why it’s not like a computer
> Designing mobile web sites vs. mobile applications
> Creating useful, popular, “sticky” mobile sites and apps
> Where the iPad and other tablets fit into the mobile scene
Mobile designers and strategists from ZAAZ, Red Foundry, Frog Design, and IconMobile will provide insight into how they think “mobile” and will include a range of examples, case studies, and tools to provide context.
This workshop is for designers who want to understand the special considerations of creating designs for mobile devices.
$275
You must be a practicing designer or advanced design student
