Content Strategy for the Web

Sorry, this class is closed.

Content isn’t just words. It’s everything that goes into a web site—copy, images, videos, blog feeds, metadata, and more.  So, what’s a content strategy? It’s a plan that works out where the content comes from, how it’s updated, and—most important—how your content is working for your site’s visitors.

If how content is handled on your site is a little hit-and-miss, this workshop will help you pull things together with the result being a more organized, more effective site. Some of the specifics we’ll cover include:

> Content Strategy Basics: What, Why, When, Where, How, Who
> Case Studies: Websites with content strategy, and websites without
> CS & UX: How content strategy fits into design and user experience
> Skills: What talents a content strategist needs to have
> Deliverables: The tools of the content strategists’ trade
> Practice: How one goes about doing content strategy
> Context: The state of the discipline, and content strategy outside the web

This is an intro to mid-level workshops for marcom managers, emerging content strategists, web writers, designers, information architects and other people who’d like to improve their work with better content.
